New House Day 3: Locked and Getting Loaded

Exhausted but with days more of this ahead (moving day is a week away), we took our lunch break in Reception 2 which will become our dining room.  The smoked pork, Slovakian cheese, Lithuanian brown bread, Polish beer, and relatively local crisps came from the supermarket around the corner where English is further down than list than second language.

Earlier, I took a break for the first run since last Thursday.  I ran over to the Toolstation in Oldbury and got some new lock cylinders for the place.  It is now securely ours…and the Newcastle Building Society’s who sent us our first piece of post addressed to this house.

First coat of primer went up on the front reception and more-or-less soaked right into the plaster.  This was expected and will provide a bit of a seal for the rock and a key for the second coat of primer.  We’re using a standard emulsion diluted to 80% with 20% water, but the second coat will be (and first coat was, on the upstairs bedrooms where the walls had no wallpaper) straight emulsion.

I run and go to pubs. That's about it, really. Pronoun: I couldn't care less how you refer to me ... I'm dealing with ADULT problems.
