During a break in Storm Dennis, I made a break for Screwfix and Wickes over by The Hawthorns. One stop further into Handsworth, I found the somewhat hidden Royal Oak — more a Desi barbecue place than a pub but there’s a bar and there was T2o cricket (England bowling to South Africa while I was there) so all was right with the world.
