2020 Commute 78 of 52 (From): Decay

Fungus on a stump, Chemistry Building, UniBrum. 7 Oct 2020

It was windy and cool but sunny. The commute home stopped at the Homebase in Oldbury to pick up a quarter mile of jute string for a refurb use but also because we can use the leftover in the garden. It is biodegradable and will, in a year or so exposed outdoors, absorb into the soil.

The state of the American Presidency is in decay, as well. We haven’t seen the rotting jack-o-lantern in chief in a couple of days so we can only hope for the best. That champagne in the fridge won’t rinse the rancid taste away, but it will define a half our period quiet reflection — and, relief — whenever the announcement comes.

Perhaps it will be today!
