I went to the Public Bar of the George & Dragon, which was tiny but there were obviously people in there from the loud conversation. After my ale settled and was topped up, I followed the Byzantine halls out to the courtyard and then to the garden where it started raining almost immediately. England at the end of summer…brilliant.
Back inside, the landlady and the gathered drinkers were friendly as you would have to be since you were bound to be sharing a table with strangers. Good pub experience and right around the corner from the Cathedral.
